The Drive-Thru Isn’t Faster
The bed is never more comfortable than the ten minutes before you absolutely have to get up.
One more snooze.
Now you’re running late.
So you do what millions of people do every morning—you swing by the drive-thru or coffee shop because it feels like the fastest option.
But is it really?
You still have to make the detour, wait in line, order, pay, and merge back into traffic.
Now imagine a different morning.
You open the refrigerator.
Creamy Greek yogurt, a ripe banana, and just enough chocolate to make breakfast feel like dessert.
Breakfast is ready in about a minute.
You’re eating breakfast while someone else is still inching forward in the drive-thru line.
The drive-thru isn’t faster.
The problem isn’t breakfast.
The problem is trying to make breakfast during the busiest twenty minutes of your day.
Five calm minutes in the evening can accomplish more than twenty chaotic minutes in the morning.
If you have those five minutes, breakfast becomes something you’ll actually look forward to.
Make one pot of oatmeal.
Then let the toppings do the work.
- Apple Pie with warm cinnamon apples and toasted walnuts.
- Peanut Butter Cup with crunchy peanut butter and rich chocolate.
- Coconut Banana Cream Pie with golden toasted coconut and fragrant vanilla.
- Pumpkin Pecan Pie with cozy pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and buttery toasted pecans.
Same oatmeal. Four completely different breakfasts.
Sometimes all it takes is a different flavor to make an old favorite feel new again.
Breakfast doesn’t have to be complicated.
It just has to be easy enough that you’ll choose it over the drive-thru.
And who knows? Apple Pie or Pumpkin Pecan Pie might just make getting out of bed a little more enticing.
What is your go-to breakfast when you are running late?
